On the audio front, the inclusion of three Cirrus Logic CS4398 digital-to-analog converters takes audio performance into a totally different league. Onkyo’s own technologies come into play with Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry (VLSC) and Direct Digital Path to protect audio signals from the most destructive elements to quality movies and music—pulse noise and noise emanating from a player’s internal components.

The iPort IW-5 installs in a standard electrical box and makes it easy for the entire family to use the Apple iPod® as a music source in a wide variety audio systems. The IW-5 delivers video from iPod photo players and allows for long-distance control of iPod functions with 2-way communication (requires optional 3rd-party controller). The included Wallplates allow the iPort to play through practically any audio/video system, and the included DC power supply charges the iPod while it is docked in the iPort.
